We bought our place at Ivy Quad because of the proximity to campus and because they were built with first class construction people and developers. The original driver for my purchase was Ivy Quad’s proximity to Notre Dame’s campus as a residence for my son who was attending graduate school at Notre Dame at the time. So, my selection criteria were not all that complex.
But subsequent to that early purchase decision, my experience with Ivy Quad was so unusually positive that I purchased a much larger unit for my family as a place for them to enjoy for many years to come. Ivy Quad rightfully promotes its high quality construction and LEED certification. But for me as a resident, what trumps the energy savings associated with LEED certification is the reality that the units are quiet and things work as they should. And when I refer to “things” working, I am not just referencing the mechanical processes of the building but I am commenting equally on the maintenance and management of the property.
Beyond the construction quality, the Developer and the Ivy Quad management team exhibit a standard of responsiveness that I have not experienced before. As one of the first purchasers with no prior relationship to the Developer, my service expectations were low. But now after four years living at Ivy Quad, I cannot think of one instance where I was dissatisfied with any request I have made.
And finally, I would say a distinguishing factor for Ivy Quad is our neighbors. We have found the Ivy Quad neighborhood to be friendly, engaging and protective of the enclave that we have created.

As a young professional, I love the proximity to Notre Dame and local venues. I also work at Notre Dame so it’s nice to live so close to my office. I have seen the Ivy Quad development become a community where neighbors have become close friends. We have created an unique Notre Dame atmosphere we call home!

Proximity to Notre Dame attracted us to look at Ivy Quad. Quality – both inside and out – is what convinced us to buy. The exterior finishes using brick and limestone to match campus construction make Ivy Quad distinctive from other developments. The quality of construction inside — including sound baffling insulation in the walls, ceilings, and floors and the fit and finishes — made the ultimate difference for us. When we made our decision, we knew that we would be making Ivy Quad our full-time home. Our last home featured high end finishes with many custom features. Ivy Quad fits that profile and made our decision to down size from a large single family home much easier.
We were also impressed with David Matthews’ vision for Ivy Quad and his other developments, and we were pleased with the willingness of David and his team to work with us to customize our new home.

My wife and I chose Ivy Quad because of its proximity and location to Notre Dame, as well as for its quality of construction; however before moving in we did not imagine the impact that the development would play on our young family. Even though we have only five or so years in endowed support of athletics and academics with Notre Dame, because of the community established within the intimate setting of Ivy Quad, we have been able to meet our neighbors with similar values affording us impactful relationships that will last a lifetime.
